You may be able to blend a layer into these frames, or partly overlay the frames or add a layer mask to the Frames to alow a lower frame layer show. However these layer as far as I know will not have any transparency they will be 100% opaque. mov file, so there aren't any layers - each frame is flattened. I should probably add that the GIF I'm trying to insert is not one that I created with CS6, but rather one that I created from an imported. gif extension, or a video file which you've been referring to as a GIF for some reason? If the Timeline is in Video mode, such as when a video file has been opened, then the panel menu is different and doesn't contain the items I mentioned. The menu items I mentioned should be in the Timeline panel menu if the Timeline is in Frame Animation mode, as it should be when a GIF has been opened. I'm now suspecting that you have the Timeline in Video mode, though, because. That's as good a way as any and will work when the Timeline is in Frame Animation mode if the option "New Layers Visible in All Frames" is enabled. Yep, I noticed and deleted my sentence about you still not stating which version of Ps. For whatever reason, in the master document, I only get the first frame of the animation, not the full GIF. More specifically, I have flat UI screens for an app design that I transform into a perpective view to overlay over a photo of an iPhone. put a static image behind an animated GIF - except that the GIF in question is in a Smart Object that I transform and place into a master PSD. Any idea why?įinally, I have another similar problem that you might know how to solve given your depth of Photoshop knowledge: I'm trying to do the same thing - i.e. I did open the GIF as you instructed and then pasted the static image in as you instructed, but the options you said to select didn't appear in the Timeline menu. I just place the image I want and then go to Layer -> Create Background From Layer and then it gets applied across all the other frames. I actually figured out how to add a static background layer to an animated GIF, but this is probably not the optimal method. Here's a look at how the pages should look in your InDesign storyboard for the animated GIF project.I mentioned I have Timeline which means I have CS6 Repeat the same for the black pair of shoes. On the last page, click on the image of the brown pair of shoes and with the Selection Tool, hover over the top left corner and rotate the frame 45 degrees. On, click on the image of the brown pair of shoes and with the Selection Tool, hover over the top right corner and rotate the frame -45 degrees. Repeat the same steps until all the clothing items and logo have been placed as seen from the layout. Then paste them again on the remaining pages. On, add two more clothing images using the same Paste in place technique. Then paste them again on the remaining pages in the document. On, add two more clothing images using the same Paste in Place technique. Use the Paste in Place technique to paste these images on the remaining pages in the document. For this, copy them from the main layout on and go to Edit > Paste in Place to place them on. On, add two of the clothing images of your choice. Leave blank – this will be the start of the GIF animation. Use the first page in the document to create the layout, using the clothing items and logo for this fictional men's fashion brand – Halton Hills.
